What is the TNPSC (Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission) exam?
TNPSC exam is conducted by Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission to recruit candidates for state government jobs. Paper 1: Tamil Eligibility Test (100 marks)
In this paper, candidates will get descriptive type questions, which test their Tamil language proficiency.
Paper 2: General Studies I (250 marks)
Here, candidates will be asked questions based on modern history of India and culture, social issues in India and Tamilnadu and general aptitude and mental ability.
Paper 3: General Studies II (250 marks)

TNPSC Group II & II-A
The TNPSC Group 2 and 2A exams are conducted to recruit candidates for middle-level executive and administrative posts. Both exams consist of Preliminary examination (200 objective questions, 300 marks, 3 hours) and Mains exam ( 2 descriptive type papers). TNPSC 2 and 2A syllabus contains prelims and mains, the interview process is included in Group 2 and in Group 2A, it is not. Group 2 candidates also must attend an interview (40 marks), while Group A candidates will be directly selected on the basis of written scores.
