{"id":218,"date":"2023-11-05T10:54:11","date_gmt":"2023-11-05T10:54:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iasquest.com\/?p=218"},"modified":"2026-02-11T19:32:28","modified_gmt":"2026-02-11T19:32:28","slug":"ai-summit-new-global-pact-on-tackling-artificial-intelligence-risks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kingmakersiasacademy.com\/current-affairs\/ai-summit-new-global-pact-on-tackling-artificial-intelligence-risks\/","title":{"rendered":"AI Summit: New global pact on tackling Artificial Intelligence risks."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bletchley Park in Buckinghamshire near London was once the top-secret base of the codebreakers who cracked the German <strong>\u2018Enigma Code<\/strong>\u2019 that hastened the end of World War II.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This symbolism was evidently a reason why it was chosen to host the <strong>world\u2019s first ever Artificial Intelligence (AI) Safety Summit.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Bletchley Park Declaration<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>\u201cFrontier AI\u201d<\/strong> is defined as highly capable foundation generative AI models that could possess dangerous capabilities that can pose severe risks to public safety.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The declaration, which was also endorsed by Brazil, Ireland, Kenya, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, and the United Arab Emirates, incorporates an acknowledgment of the substantial risks from potential intentional misuse or unintended issues of control of frontier AI \u2014 especially cybersecurity, biotechnology, and disinformation risks, according to the UK government, the summit host.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The declaration noted the <strong>\u201cpotential for serious, even catastrophic, harm, either deliberate or unintentional, stemming from the most significant capabilities of these AI models\u201d<\/strong>, as well as risks beyond frontier AI, including those of bias and privacy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>These risks are \u201c<strong>best addressed through international cooperation\u201d<\/strong>, the Bletchley Park Declaration said.
