This operation was a direct response to the Pahalgam Terror Attack, claimed by The Resistance Front (TRF), a group linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), with India attributing its support to Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-3 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The precise execution of Operation Sindoor:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-4 wp-block-paragraph\">The Operation Sindoor witnessed attack on 9 locations identified as terror sites (4 locations in the territory of Pakistan whereas 5 within the region of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"852\" height=\"852\" src=\"https:\/\/iasquest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2069\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kingmakersiasacademy.com\/current-affairs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image.png 852w, https:\/\/kingmakersiasacademy.com\/current-affairs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/kingmakersiasacademy.com\/current-affairs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/kingmakersiasacademy.com\/current-affairs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image-768x768.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 852px) 100vw, 852px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-5 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Weapons Involved in Operation Sindoor<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-6 wp-block-paragraph\">Operation Sindoor involved the use of modern, high-precision weapons by the Indian Armed Forces. These weapons were chosen to ensure accurate strikes with minimal damage to civilians or property. The Indian Air Force (IAF) used advanced systems like SCALP Cruise Missiles, HAMMER Bombs, and Loitering Munitions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-7 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Significance of Operation Sindoor:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-block-list wp-elements-8\">\n<li>India\u2019s Ministry of Defence described Operation Sindoor as a <strong>\u201cfocused, measured, and non-escalatory\u201d mission aimed solely at dismantling terrorist infrastructure.<\/strong> The strikes deliberately avoided Pakistani military installations and were conducted based on precise intelligence to minimize civilian casualties.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rightly served as a <strong>avenging yet cautious attack following the Pahalgam terror attack <\/strong>in Kashmir which led to huge chaos in India.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>India stated that the operation was part of its <strong>commitment to ensuring accountability for the terrorist<\/strong> behind the Pahalgam attack.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The nature and impact of the attack <strong>might serve as a deterrent <\/strong>for any potential terror attacks on India in the near future.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By cautiously avoiding major Pakistan military infrastructure, it once again proved <strong>India\u2019s leadership in the fight against terrorism.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-9 wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Security related and other consequences:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-block-list wp-elements-10\">\n<li>Srinagar<strong> Airport has been shut down completely. <\/strong>No commercial flights are operating from the airfield.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Airports in Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, and Bikaner are all suspended or disrupted.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Several <strong>flights have been cancelled or diverted <\/strong>due to restricted airspace and security protocols following the strikes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kashmir issue once again <strong>gaining global traction and is creating needless polarisation in some places<\/strong> apart from huge support (implicitly and explicitly) to India.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-11 wp-block-paragraph\">In the rise of recent events, India has prolonged its stride in fight against terrorism and this has led to <strong>India\u2019s new doctrine against terrorism<\/strong> resting on <strong>three key elements<\/strong>: a response on India\u2019s terms; no tolerance for terror that hides under \u201cnuclear blackmail\u201d; and no distinction between the terrorists, their leaders and a government that sponsors them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
