class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It is a transformative programme in public service delivery using <strong>modern information and communication technology.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The DBT has been a force multiplier in facilitating the transfer of <strong>social safety net payments<\/strong> directly from the government to beneficiaries\u2019 bank accounts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It helps to <strong>reduce leakages, curb corruption<\/strong>, and provide a tool to effectively reach households to increase coverage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>As per constitutional provision, to ensure<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Article 21:<\/strong> The right to a dignified life<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>DPSP:<\/strong> To address issues like inequalities in income, opportunities, and resources, strengthen health, and secure the right to work and public assistance for those in need.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>DBT coverage:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It covered over 300 central and more than 2000 state schemes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Example<\/strong>: Farmer income support programmes like<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the <strong>Pradhan Mantri KIsan Samman Nidhi (PM KISAN),<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>pensions for the elderly, Divyangjan, widows, etc., under the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP).<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fertiliser subsidy,<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Food grain support (Public Distribution System),<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mid-day meals for schoolchildren [Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman (PM POSHAN)]<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>Progress of DBT:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <strong>World Bank (2022)<\/strong> recognised the need for countries to back DBT-styled<strong>&nbsp;public interventions<\/strong> into action plans for <strong>disaster resilience<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>According to the <strong>World Bank, <\/strong>India has managed to provide food or cash support to a remarkable <strong>85% of rural households<\/strong> and<strong> 69% of urban households.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>IMF<\/strong> has hailed DBT for being \u2018<strong>a logistical marvel how these programmes that seek to help people who are at low-income levels reach literally hundreds of millions of people&#8217;.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The G20 <\/strong>is envisaged as<strong> inclusive, ambitious, action-oriented, and decisive. <\/strong>It has also been stressed that since<strong> \u2018India is a microcosm of the world\u2019, the initiatives that we take for \u2018leveraging technology for citizen welfare\u2019 will&#8230; catalyse a fundamental mindset shift to benefit humanity as a whole.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>Future Scope of DBT:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The DBT 2.0<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It focuses on an online eligibility verification mechanism using Aadhaar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>digitization and Aadhaar seeding<\/strong> of such documents ensure citizen-friendly, real-time, and cost-effective verification or authentication.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Example:<\/strong> <strong>The DigiLocker and API Setu<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The DBT 3.0<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It seeks to usher in a transformative shift in the scheme of benefit delivery to citizens.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Example: Kutumba<\/strong> in Karnataka, <strong>Parivaar Pehchaan Patra<\/strong> in Haryana, <strong>Samagra<\/strong> in Madhya Pradesh, <strong>Jan Aadhaar<\/strong> in Rajasthan, and the <strong>Social Protection Delivery Platform (SPDP)<\/strong> in Odisha.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Conclusion<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The DBT clearly has the potential to promote harmony within our &#8216;<strong>one
