the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <strong>Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical, and Technological Advice<\/strong> (SBSTTA-25) is taking place between October 15 and 19, 2023.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The SBSTTA-25 in Nairobi sets the scene for the task at hand: to meet the scientific, technical, and technological needs of parties in their efforts to move from agreement to action towards our common vision of living in harmony with nature.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<strong>About SBSTTA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The Convention on Biological Diversity<\/strong> establishes an open-ended intergovernmental scientific advisory body known as the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical, and Technological Advice (SBSTTA).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SBSTTA is to report regularly to the COP on all aspects of its work.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SBSTTA comprises government representatives competent in the relevant field of expertise.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The SBSTTA has convened 23 times and has generated a total of 240 recommendations to the COP, with some of these recommendations being fully endorsed by the COP.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Functions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Providing assessments of the <strong>status of biological diversity<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Providing assessments of the <strong>types of measures taken<\/strong> in accordance with the provisions of the Convention;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Responding to questions that the COP may put to the
