As mentioned, the UPSC exam selection process consists of three stages to select the right candidates for IAS, IPS, IFS and other services. Candidates who are shortlisted will be provided with admit cards to attend UPSC Prelims examination. It consists of two papers in objective type. After completing it, candidates can proceed with UPSC Mains examination. Stage 1 of UPSC Selection Process: Prelims Exam

The first stage of UPSC Selection process begins with the Prelims Test, which consists of two objective-type papers: General Studies Paper I and CSAT. The total score in UPSC Prelims is 400 marks, but it will not be counted in the final merit list since it is in a qualifying nature. UPSC Selection Process - Document Verification & Medical Examination

Document Verification (DV) and the Medical Examination are crucial stages of the UPSC selection process. The DV will be in the process alongside the UPSC interview, where submitted original documents in the UPSC Mains Detailed Application Form (DAF) will be verified for accuracy and authenticity.
